PODER Hosts Summer Youth Justice Leadership Program

About the Program

The PODER Young Scholars for Justice Leadership Development Program (YSJ) provides linguistically and culturally relevant programming.  The program builds the emotional, behavioral, and social needs of youth while providing opportunities for the development of 21st century.

The program is overseen by staff with significant experience in youth development and is supported by college interns with experience in designing programs for diverse communities.  In addition, the program not only effectively engages youth, but also reflects their culture.

The YSJ is designed to assist youth ages 14-18 living in East Austin. It is held for half-day sessions, Monday through Thursday, for five (5) weeks.   All YSJ participants will receive a weekly stipend of $50.

Application Deadline & Program Dates

The deadline for applying is June 4th, 2018.  Applicants will be notified of their acceptance by June 6th, 2018.

The program will start on Monday, June 11th and will end on July 6th, 2018.  Program hours are 8:00am – 12 noon, Monday thru Thursday.  In some cases, afternoon or a Saturday hours may be required.
